Don Hewlett’s Xpress Oil Change Plus OPENS!

Have you noticed all the new improvements along Westinghouse Road? New construction projects continue to develop around the Georgetown section of Teravista and leading the way is the recent expansion at Don Hewlett Chevrolet, Buick on 7601 N Interstate 35. Trendsetting is nothing new to the Hewlett family, as they were the first dealership to establish a presence along this stretch of I-35. The movement paved the way for many other car dealers to set roots and form what is now coined “Motor Mile North.”
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of touring Don Hewlett’s new Xpress Oil Change Plus facility, which opened up in November 2017. Service Drive Manager Greg Grove and Marketing Director Barbie Sproull walked me through a tour of the new building and spoke proudly about the new services the center offers and their plans for the future.
The existing service building will be dedicated to major repairs while Xpress Oil Change Plus allows customers to drop-in for oil changes,
state inspections and tire repairs. “It’s a quick in and out,” says Greg.
The motto for Xpress Oil Change Plus is speed and they try to get everyone in and out in less than an hour! One of the reasons for their efficiency is their new technology. Drive-thru machines like the TreadSpec scans a vehicle’s tires to measure tread depth, to determine if the tires need to be rotated and if the vehicle is out of alignment.
Even with its commitment to speed, this express station is the kind of place that you would want to linger. The lobby is spa cious and comfortable, providing individual media desks, a media bar, and refreshments. Next to the main waiting room is the family room, with toys and movies for the kids. One noteworthy part of the service station is its mini car museum, displaying cars from Mr. Hewlett’s own private collection, some of which he has driven in the Red Poppy Festival. Greg and Barbie have plans for making the room into a 60s-themed event space, complete with a jukebox and popcorn machine!
In addition to pleasant waiting areas, expect free bonus services when your vehicle comes back to you. With every oil change, they’ll include free tire rotation, fluid top off, multi-point vehicle inspection and car wash! Although the center services only GM vehicles now, Don Hewlett’s Xpress Oil Change Plus is headed for servicing all brands of vehicles in the near future.
We were also pleasantly surprised to hear that this state-ofthe-art facility doesn’t come with state-of-the-art prices. A full synthetic, up to 6-quart oil change is $49.95. For an 8-quart oil change, it’s $59.95. That’s reason enough for us to swing by for a quick oil change and walk through their lot of new (and classic) models!
